The ALEA project was developed as part of a Technology-based Design module, where the focus was on creating a camera housing suitable for production through plastic injection molding. The design process began with sketches and cardboard models, followed by digital visualization in Fusion 360. A prototype was 3D printed using stereolithography (SLA), and after several iterations and refinements, the final model was carefully assembled and glued. The name “ALEA” is inspired by its shape—simple, compact, and cube-like. This design not only reflects the camera’s minimalistic aesthetic but also invites easy interaction. Whether you’re taking a photo or recording a short video, the single main button makes it straightforward to use. Special attention was given to the placement of the screws in the center, allowing for easy disassembly and repair, and providing a clear understanding of the internal mechanisms.
