The textile object creates an oasis within the interior space. Inspired by natural cooling methods \u2013 such as damp cloths in windows and desert refrigerators \u2013 it generates a localized cooling effect. The combination of clay, textile, and water naturally improves the indoor climate and helps regulate temperature.<\/p>

Water landscapes have a similar effect in both urban and rural environments: they provide recreation while naturally cooling the surroundings. In contrast, humans have increasingly created sealed surfaces \u2013 stone landscapes that no longer absorb, store, or release water. Peatlands have been drained to make way for agricultural land. However, drainage causes them to lose their natural functions: instead of storing carbon, they release it. Their ability to retain water during floods disappears. Habitats for plants and animals vanish, along with valuable recreational spaces for people. The consequences are tangible: rising temperatures, more frequent floods, expanding heat islands, and an increasing number of tropical nights.<\/p>

The renaturation of such areas and the restoration of their ecological potential make a significant contribution to climate protection. The hydrotextile<\/em> object creates a symbolic connection between its material composition and an underlying, invisible level \u2013 the revival of natural water landscapes. It opens up new applications for materials derived from water landscapes, such as alder wood, and makes their ecological and economic potential visible, thereby supporting targeted renaturation efforts.<\/p>

What if products could actively contribute to renaturation? What if new uses for peatland materials could be developed, revealing both their ecological and economic potential? Inspiriert von nat\u00fcrlichen K\u00fchlmethoden \u2013 wie feuchte T\u00fccher im Fenster und dem W\u00fcstenk\u00fchlschrank \u2013 entsteht ein lokaler K\u00fchlungseffekt. Die Verbindung von Lehm, Textil und Wasser verbessert das Raumklima auf nat\u00fcrliche Weise und wirkt temperaturregulierend.<\/p>

Wasserlandschaften entfalten auch im urbanen und l\u00e4ndlichen Raum eine \u00e4hnliche Wirkung: Sie bieten Erholung und sorgen auf nat\u00fcrliche Weise f\u00fcr Abk\u00fchlung. Der Mensch hingegen hat zunehmend versiegelte Fl\u00e4chen geschaffen \u2013 Steinlandschaften, die Wasser nicht mehr aufnehmen, speichern oder abgeben. Moore wurden trockengelegt, um Fl\u00e4chen f\u00fcr die Landwirtschaft zu gewinnen. Doch mit der Trockenlegung verlieren sie ihre nat\u00fcrlichen Funktionen: Statt Kohlenstoff zu binden, setzen sie ihn frei. Ihre F\u00e4higkeit zur Wasserspeicherung bei Hochwasser geht verloren. Lebensr\u00e4ume f\u00fcr Pflanzen und Tiere verschwinden, ebenso wertvolle Erholungsr\u00e4ume f\u00fcr Menschen. Die Folgen sind sp\u00fcrbar: steigende Temperaturen, h\u00e4ufigere \u00dcberschwemmungen, Hitzeinseln und immer mehr Tropenn\u00e4chte.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Die Renaturierung solcher Fl\u00e4chen und die Wiederherstellung ihres \u00f6kologischen Potenzials leisten einen bedeutenden Beitrag zum Klimaschutz.
